ABOUT US
Outdoor Lifestyle Apparel — Gaylord, Michigan
Built on the Line.
Built for the Life.
The 45th Parallel runs halfway between the Equator and the North Pole. In Northern Michigan, you can pull over and stand on it. There's a sign. It's not fancy. It just tells you where you are. That's kind of the whole idea.
Where This Came From
A Place That Deserved a Brand
We're based in Gaylord, Michigan, right on the line. The 45th Parallel cuts straight through the heart of Northern Michigan — through the forests, along the rivers, past the lakes. It's the kind of place shaped by four real seasons, by cold water and two-track roads, by the kind of quiet that takes a few days to settle into if you're coming from somewhere loud.
The brand started because this place deserved one. Not a brand that used the outdoors as a backdrop, but one that was actually rooted here. Built by people who live here, know the roads, and understand what it means to feel most like yourself somewhere north of the 45th.

The 45th Parallel
The Line That Runs Through Everything
The 45th Parallel north is a circle of latitude that sits exactly halfway between the equator and the North Pole. It runs 3,700 miles across the United States — through Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine — before crossing the Atlantic and continuing through France, Italy, and beyond.
The U.S. Corridor — Oregon to Maine
Oregon Coast · Northern Rockies · Black Hills · Boundary Waters · Great Lakes · Adirondacks · Northeast Kingdom · Maine Woods
The people along that line — in Montana, in Michigan, in Vermont — tend to share a few things. They are outside more than they are inside. They know how to be comfortable in weather that would send other people back to the car. They are not impressed by things that are merely expensive. They are impressed by things that work.
That is who 45th Parallel is built for. Whether you live on the line or just feel like you belong somewhere on it, this brand was made for you. Not just Northern Michigan. The whole line.
Up North — where we spend most of our time
The People Behind It
Three People Who Never Found a Reason to Leave
One of us was born here. The other two found their way up and never really found a reason to leave — which, if you've spent any time north of the 45th, makes perfect sense.
We've been friends long enough to have shared a lot of early mornings, cold water, and bad weather together. Long enough to know how each other takes their coffee and which one of us will still be at the fire when everyone else has called it a night.
45th Parallel started the way most good things do up here — not with a business plan, but with a conversation. About this place, what it means to us, and whether we could build something that actually reflected it. Turns out we could. We're glad you found us.
How We Make Things
Made When You Order It. Not Before.
Most of our outdoor lifestyle apparel is made on demand. That means when you order something, it gets made. Not pulled from a warehouse shelf that's been sitting for six months.
It's slower. Our processing times are longer than the big guys. But it also means we're not sitting on piles of unsold product, and we're not making things just to fill a rack. We make what people actually want, and we try to make it well. Every fleece hoodie, every graphic tee, every trucker hat — made for the person who ordered it.
Made on Demand
Every product is produced when you order it. Less waste, more intention. Slower but worth it.
Rooted in Place
Designed and operated in Gaylord, MI on the 45th Parallel. The line is not a tagline. It's where we are.
Built to Last
Fleece blends, quality cotton, construction that holds up through real seasons and real use.
For the Whole Line
Built for anyone along the 45th Parallel — Oregon to Maine — and anyone who feels like they belong on it.
What We're Building
Outdoor Apparel for People Who Actually Go Outside
45th Parallel is for people who don't need the outdoors to be extreme to appreciate it. Who find something in a cool morning and a good cup of coffee and a drive with nowhere specific to be. Who wear the same hoodie for five years because it fits right and holds up and that's enough.
It's for people who know where the 45th Parallel is — in Missoula, in Duluth, in Burlington, in Gaylord — or who feel it even if they've never seen the sign. The fleece hoodie that ends up on the back of every chair, the floor of every tent, the front seat of every truck headed somewhere worth going. The tee that shows up on the dock and in the grocery store and at the end of every good day. The hat that gets more worn-in every season.
That's what we make. That's who we make it for.
We're proud to have a storefront in downtown Gaylord. Come find us if you're up this way.
